Bulgarian festival to screen ‘Sea Boys’

Iranian feature ‘Sea Boys’ is to be screened at the “Love is Folly” international film festival in Bulgaria.

Iranian feature ‘Sea Boys’ has made its way to the “Love is Folly” international film festival in Bulgaria.

‘Sea Boys’, directed by Afshin Hashemi, will be screened in the Bulgarian event that will kick off later this month.

The film is about two boys, one from the north of the country and the other from the south. The northern one has lost his father, while the southern has lost his mother.

The film grabbed three awards at the 34th International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Iran.

Established in 1993, the International Film Festival “Love is Folly” is the "doyenne" of the international film festivals in Bulgaria, according to the event's website.

The festival, “led by the ambition to broadcast the latest productions in the world of the seventh art, annually presents more than 90 films from both the Bulgarian and world film list”.

The upcoming edition of “Love is folly” will kick off on August 26 and run until September 4.
